When Life Changes Your Plans: A Free Gift For Your Healing Journey

When Life Changes Your Plans

Life has a way of reminding us that some things are beyond our control.

Over the past few weeks, my attention has been focused on my family after my husband suffered a serious fall and broke his neck. Thankfully, his spinal cord was not damaged, and his medical team is hopeful that he will make a full recovery. Even so, an injury like this changes everything overnight. Doctor’s appointments, caregiving responsibilities, and the emotional weight of uncertainty quickly become priorities.

As a result, a few things that I had planned—including a free Kindle promotion for Effective Strategies to Heal Your Inner Child—had to be postponed.

For many of us, life is a balancing act. We try to honor our commitments, care for the people we love, and still find time for our own goals and responsibilities. Sometimes everything goes according to plan. Sometimes it doesn’t.

One of the lessons I return to again and again is that healing and growth are not about perfection. They are about adapting, showing ourselves compassion, and continuing forward one step at a time. The same resilience we use to navigate life’s unexpected challenges is often the resilience that helps us heal old emotional wounds as well.

With that in mind, I am happy to share that the free Kindle promotion has been rescheduled and will run from June 22–26, 2026.

About the Book

Many of the struggles we face as adults have roots in experiences we rarely stop to examine. Feelings of unworthiness, difficulty setting boundaries, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and challenges in relationships often begin much earlier than we realize.

Effective Strategies to Heal Your Inner Child was written to help readers better understand those patterns and begin the process of healing. Through practical exercises, self-reflection, mindfulness practices, and evidence-based strategies, the book offers a compassionate roadmap toward greater self-awareness, resilience, and emotional well-being.

Whether you are working through significant childhood trauma or simply trying to better understand yourself, the goal is the same: to reconnect with the part of yourself that still deserves understanding, acceptance, and care.

A Glimpse Inside the Book

One of the most important lessons I have learned is that healing often begins when we reconnect with the parts of ourselves we have forgotten, ignored, or silenced along the way.

The following passage comes from the introduction of Effective Strategies to Heal Your Inner Child. It captures the heart of what this book is about and the journey I hope it offers to readers.

“Once upon a time, a little girl loved to dance. She danced in the living room, twirling around in her pajamas, and she danced in the garden, her bare feet brushing the grass. But as she grew older, the music slowly faded. Life got busy, and the dance stopped. The little girl went silent. Yet, deep down, she was still there, waiting for someone to hear her.

This book is a journey of rediscovery, a thrilling opportunity to find that little girl who loved to dance. It’s about reconnecting with your inner child, the part of you that feels, dreams, and wonders. The purpose is to help you heal from past hurts and build the strength you need to live a full life. Because, let’s face it, life is a bit of a rollercoaster. And sometimes, we need to go back before we can move forward.”

Perhaps there was a time when you felt more carefree, more creative, or more connected to yourself. Perhaps life became busy, responsibilities grew heavier, and that part of you slowly faded into the background.

The good news is that it is never too late to reconnect with yourself. Healing is not about becoming someone new. It is about rediscovering the strength, worth, and resilience that have been within you all along.
