Why I Used an AI-Generated Image, And Why I’m Changing That
When I first started publishing my books and writing for my blog Sisters Self Care I made a choice I’ve been thinking about a lot lately.
I used an AI-generated image of a woman instead of a photo of myself.
At the time, it felt like the right decision. I was feeling self-conscious, unsure of how I would be received, hesitant to show my face, and honestly, afraid of judgment. That AI image felt like a shield, a way to put my message out there without putting myself fully out there.
But here’s the thing…
Over the past months, I’ve written openly about healing the inner child, developing confidence, overcoming self-doubt, and embracing authenticity. And I’ve realized that if I’m encouraging you to step into your truth, I need to do the same.
So, I want to come clean.
Yes, I used an AI-generated image. But now, I’m replacing it with my own.
Because I’m proud of the woman I am. I’m a woman in her 50s who has grown through challenge, shown up for herself and others, and built something that reflects her heart. It’s time you see me as I am, not as a perfectly curated placeholder, but as a real person with a real story.
To anyone who’s ever felt like hiding, I get it. And you’re not alone.
But the more we show up as ourselves, the more we give others permission to do the same.
So, here I am.
